Airport navigation can be stressful enough as it is. Crowds of people, reaching your gate on time, passing through security in one piece…that’s enough for anyone to have anxiety. For the frequent traveler, becoming accustomed to certain aspects of airport travel becomes routine and seamless. In the new age of flying during and pandemic, here are a few tips to help you stay organized and for you and your luggage to be sanitized as well:
- Don’t be in a rush to pack your belongings. Take the time to plan in ADVANCE for an upcoming trip specifically items in a carry on and/or a personal item
- Bring shoe covers with you when you enter security
- Hand sanitizer
- Wear gloves
- Bring a sheet of 2 of paper towel to lay down on the bin when placing your carry on bag in it (this avoids direct contact with your luggage and the bin
- Wear socks!
- When taking off you shoes to enter the body secure imaging, immediately put on your shoe covers over your socks to eliminate direct contact with your socks to the floor
- If bringing our laptop or any electronic devices, make sure to have these items readily available so you are not digging through your items holding up the line
- Throw away your shoe covers after you go through security before putting back on your shoes
- Remember to dress accordingly and not to have anything in pockets and avoid wearing belts
Think about and picture yourself at the airport as you are navigating through. For the frequent traveler this may not be an issue but thinking ahead about what your belongings will touch will help you to better prepare in the sanitization department.
